LTR PM (Private Messaging) Broken Since the room was reset on Sunday or Monday!

Am I The Only One who really Misses being able to Send and Receive PM from other users?

I have really enjoyed this feature since I joined in 07.

Hope this gets Fixed Soon!

Thanks,

Hi Mensa Pipmaster,

I do apologize for the inconvenience, but we have had a few incidents of spam complaints from members, about private messages within the room, advertising other services.

We were forced to disable member-to-member PMs to make sure our members
get the best possible experience in the room.

You can still send PMs to instructors though.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Default More LTR Functions Now Disabled???

At the time of this writing (1:54 EST during Vito's presentation)

The Save, and Print Buttons on the Instructors Camera screen are now Disabled so we can't save or Print Screen Shots, (like we used to be able to.)

The Raise Hand Button (To get instructors attention by Printing the raise had Icon and Making a Sound) and Smiles are Now Completely Missing (They were there since Nov until now).

Just wondering if this is a Bug that needs to be fixed, or a Functionality that has been taken away like the PM (Private Message Between users) that is still Missing, even though the poll at present 5-2 shows the user Majority wants the Ability to PM each other like we used to.
Poll is at
http://forums.fxinstructor.com/showthread.php?p=1732 Please vote.

And to loose Sunil Mangwani on top of all of this all within a period of 7 days.

It's been a bad 7 days !

Hi Mensa, the forum automatically puts all posts from people with less than 10 posts to their name, that contain a link, on the moderation queue - this is done to prevent spambots from cluttering our forum, but some times it does catch innocent posts like yours.

Sorry about that!

I will look into the raise hand and screenshot features to see why they are disabled, but the PMs are going to stay disabled for the foreseeable future, for the reasons I mentioned.

I do apologize once again, but it had to be done

Wink Possible LTR

Eugene,

Thanks for the Explanation, I Understand Now. (Was Wondering Why it didn't post my 1st message, but posed my 2nd one).

Just Curious, doesn't v bulletin have the option to force entry of a capta Code (Where a Human has to read numbers and letters embedded in a skewed Graphic and type them in) before it will post a message.

By Disabling LTR Private Messaging for ALL Member to member Communications it leaves them 1 of 2 bad choices as I see it.

We can

1.Chat Publiclly which makes it cluttered for Students trying to discern which messages are for whom being all jumbled in the Public LTR.

2. We can Exchanging our Private Contact Info Publicly in the LTR so we can Chat Elsewhere on Yahoo PalTalk, MYSpace or where ever.

The Big Problem with #2 is that it Force Any member who wants to be able to talk to any other member to give our Private Contact info Email or Instant Message info Publicly in the LTR (Because we can't PM) so that All users, SPAMBOTS, etc now have our Contact info.)
It seem better to be able to have the PM Feature and simply Ignore a Spambot message, as opposed to being Forced to give Private Contact info Publicly.

FYI I have been in the LTR 24X7 98% of the time since 1 First Came here in Nov 2007 and have seen 0 SPAM Messages.

Here is a good Solution, Maybe you can set us up to a Non-Instructor LTR Level Like Ziggy Zag where those that want to allow others to PM us can.
Yesterday I was PM'd by Ziggy who didn't know that the rest of us can't PM each other anymore, and I didn't know he was set to a different level).
Apparently Ziggy is set to a level where he can Initiate a PM with ANYONE as well as be PM'd by Anyone.

Could you please set Myself and or those that want to be able to be PM'd can be at the level Ziggy is at?

If need be, Maybe make Private PM as a Subscribers Only or 1 Year Subscribers Only Feature, as yet another reason to Subscribe by the year?

Just an Idea.

Thanks again,

MENSA PIPMASTER
