Default Where Should I Start???

New to this forum... New to MT4...
Can anybody help me to set up the indicators?
I already downloaded the MT4 and the FXI indicators.
I added the FXI indicators but made my charts a mess.
Where do I get the stochs and macd parameters?
I am overwhelmed by all of the indicators and its documentation.
Please help... need guidance..

Thank you

Hi Grassroots,

You definitely shouldn't use all the indicators at once. There is a right time and place for everything.

Let give you a brief overview of what each indicator does:
  • FXI Pivots, FXI Pivot Midlines, FXI Momentum Value:
These three indicators are used for Pivots Trading. In fact all three are used for the same topic. You can read more about Pivots here.
  • FXI Moving Average:
This one is used for the 200MA Trend-Following System, another strategy which we teach. You can read about the 200MA here.
  • FXI Camelback:
Similar to the 200MA, this is another Trend-Following System which we teach, taking advantage of 3 different moving averages. Read about it here.
  • FXI Divergence Scan:
This is an indicator that detects Divergence based on price and oscillator averages. The general principle of Divergence is something we use A LOT in our trading. You can read about Divergence here.
  • FXI Daylines:
This is an indicator which works according to the same principle as Pivots, except instead of taking an entire day's worth of data, this one uses a specific time period. You would apply it as you would Pivots.
  • FXI Price Alert:
This indicator lets you set up a custom sound alert on a price level, or the level of one of several indicators.
I suggest you go through my answer to your "hello" post and gradually pick up the tools that we use. Don't use the indicators until you are confident about the underlying technique and strategy.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Deji,

My suggestion is to attend the Live Trading Room, ask questions, and see how we apply different techniques. Open a demo account, practice every day, and eventually you will develop your market discipline and trading style.

If you are confused about something, we have made a lot of videos and reading materials available. Feel free to ask us about anything you feel confused about.

If you are looking for basic information about the forex market, I suggest dropping by http://www.babypips.com/school as well. It offers lots of general information for newbie traders.

Default D1D2D3 set ups etc..

I am not getting the concept of D1 D2 D3 set ups as of yet... I am just over a week old in the forum...and in LTR. Do you have any materials/videos, etc.. I can read about this?
How do I set up my Fib expansions (38.2, 161.8, etc..) and Fib projections?
Is there any example I can look up?

Another question: what stochastic parameters are set up in the LTR's instructors' charts? Sometimnes I see (14,5,5) sometimes (8,5,5) or (8,5,3)
I am looking at MT :
stochastic oscillator
MA Method: Simple, Exponential, Linear Weighted (Which one??)
Fixed Min?
Fixed Max?
Price Field: Close/Close, Low/High (which one???)

Hopefully this will help me reduce some of my confusions...
Thank you and have a good thanksgiving ...
