Default Problem with metatrader

Hi,

I've an ongoing problem with metatrader - it keeps making clicking noises and is really slow to load up - also affects the speed of my computer.

Once loaded, it may work OK for a while and then it will be slow, not let me change charts, click a lot and make my computer freeze.

I've removed it and reloaded different versions - but still the same problem.

Maybe one of my custom indicators is affecting it?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

lin

Linda,

The clicking noises sounds like FXI Camelback, which is the only indicator which has a sound alert turned on by default.

If you have that on your chart, you can disable the sound alert by changing the SoundAlert setting in the inputs menu for that indicator.

FXI Moving Average also has a sound alert, but the latest version has it disabled by default. If you have an older version, it might be causing the clicking noise too.

As far as slowing down your charts - I would really need to know what indicators you have loaded. I have several of our custom indicators running constantly, on a PC that is turned on 24/7, and I do not notice any slowdowns.

Please let me know what indicators you are using. We'll get to the bottom of this

Hi Eugene,

Thanks for the reply - I've got quite a few custom indicators downloaded from forexfactory - I'm going to get rid of them all and start afresh to see if that solves the problem - will let you know if it persists.

lin,

Another simple thing often not noticed is if you have too many charts which are zoomed way out. The graphics is always the biggest hog since number crunching on indicators is your computer's forte.

But a zoom out really means a lot more pixels need to be refreshed to give you that image with bars or candles compared to a 1-color background. A couple or three like that can have a large effect.
