Ricky, here's the quickest way to get started using this EA:

1. Make sure its installed and available via your Expert Advisers list in the Navigator. (looks like you've done this already)

2. Activate the EA on your chart, and turn on the big Expert Advisers button on your MT4 charts. (note - this will enable trading via EA!)

3. Plot a trendline. Position it at the desired breakout area - when market breaks through the line, EA will fire.

4. Double-click on it, then right-click, choose Trendline Properties. Go into the "Common" tab. Change the Name of the trendline to either 'sellstop' or 'buystop' (without quotes), depending on how you want to use it.

Thats it!

Hi there,

MQ4 files contain the editable source code for MT4 indicators or expert advisers, while EX4 files are compiled uneditable versions of those indicators.

A programmer writes their MT4 tools into new MQ4 files, then compiles them to get EX4 files. You can use either one of those in your MT4 charts.

hey thanks!
by the way that TrendMeLeaveme is awesome!
there are 1000$+ packages that can't or won't do that ;-)

still feeling my way with it, but i love TLs-
but hate waiting for setups
is this the answer to my prayers!?

as far as some traders wanting it too work with limit-orders-
i wonder if using mini-channels and parallel TLs close to bottoms(buy-limits) and tops (sell-limits) of channels would satisfy that desire?

perhaps on different lower period charts?

worth investigating!

cheers

Default TrendMeLeaveMe

however, i still can't figure out the meaning of-
"StepUpper" and "StepLower"

and the need for one on each side of the break-out trendline...

Hi mtntgr,

The way the Expert was program requires it to identify where prices are currently with respect to your trendlines, thats what the StepUpper and StepLower as for, to tell the software where prices are relative to your trendline and once it has that it starts posting 'buystops' and 'sellstops' accorping to you points setting from the trendline that you drew.
